Network Monitoring with Cacti

We have a range of machines running Cacti across our network.  The majority which monitor and graph our customer machines run on Windows which is something I need to change…  The infrastructure is monitored by a Cacti Linux machine.

I’m in the process of rebuilding the main monitoring boxes so that they are running Cacti and Linux.  The cactiusers.org website contains hundreds of templates and ideas.

Cacti is just a right royal pain in the arse.  Everything works fine, and then all of a sudden it just stops drawing every graph appart from processes and users.  The joy…  more as it happens… I’m going to try Zenoss Core and Nagios too.
